Wanna see some pics?

Since May of 2009 I have taken close to 13,000 photos - and that doesn't include those that have been deleted. We're on our second camera - well, our third actually but we did return one and are now using it's replacement.

Anyway along the way I've culled pics. and put together online photo albums. Most have captions and/or commentaries. Please view our Facebook and Picasa Web Albums.

By the way I'm experimenting with video. It's quite fun but time consuming. Although I have many video snippets putting them together in some sort of finished product is an ongoing learning experience. But I do have one to share. This footage is from April, 2011 in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Here's to ongoing adventures in all of our lives.

The journey begins - June, 2009

After vacating our Moose Jaw, SK. home in May, 2009 Kim and I left the car and our minimal possessions with my daughter Danica and flew east. Although we stopped for a time in Toronto our the adventure officially began in Newfoundland with the kick-off to the The Stampeders 2009 summer touring season. Then it was back to the prairies to pick-up our car and head to Calgary. THIS PHOTO ALBUM covers that part of the journey and will give you a bit of a peek into to the start of our whole new way of life.

Home Free by Choice?

Welcome to our awesome life with 'no fixed address'. I'm radio jock Lori Dean (specializing in oldies music and memories) and my runaway partner in all things is Kimball Meyer (aka Kim Berly from Canada's Juno award-winning classic rock band The Stampeders).

Although I wouldn't call us old (just newbies to our 5th and 6th decades) I'm sure in some circles populated by younger bodies and younger attitudes we'd be consider geezers. And since we've kinda runaway from all things expected of two such mature and sane individuals we now tend to think of ourselves as, tongue in cheek, as thee 'Runaway Geezers'. Hence the name above.

In 2009 we sold the house, quit the norm and set out to live in and explore Canada, the U.S. and parts of Mexico. We crammed our small Chevy Aveo with worldly belongings and a sense of adventure and set off for who knew what. Since then we've logged miles, memories and mishaps and hope to share these exploits with you. There's lots to come so we hope you stick around. And, of course, enjoy!

P.S. This photo of us was taken by our friend Frank Houck. Visit his website for more incredible pictures by this gifted photographer.
